HRMC Hospice & Palliative Care will hold a Volunteer Training series 9 a.m. until noon on July 25, 26, 27 and 28 at Balsam Mountain Inn, 68 Seven Springs Drive, Balsam. This 12-hour program will orient volunteers to the hospice philosophy and program and help them to find their niche in hospice volunteerism.

Volunteer opportunities include: patient and family support, companionship visits, respite care for caregivers; errands; bereavement support; delivering a single rose to the family after death; office assistance; chaplaincy and other professional services; fundraising and community events planning.
