MedWest Palliative Care & Hospice Services sponsoring free grief support groups in June in Haywood and Jackson counties
Waynesville, Clyde and Sylva, N.C. – MedWest Palliative Care & Hospice Services is hosting the following free bereavement support groups in June in Haywood and Jackson counties:
- The Support Group for Parents who have experienced the death of a child meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Thursday in June in the conference room of the Haywood County Public Library at 678 Haywood St. in Waynesville. Regardless of the child’s age, all parents are welcome to attend. For the rest of this month, the group will meet June 14, 21 and 28. - The Weekly Coffee Time Group meets at 10 a.m. every Thursday at the Coffee Cup Cafe at 48 Haywood Park Drive in Clyde. The group meets for coffee, conversation and friendship with attendees sharing stories about loved ones who have died. For the rest of this month, the group will meet June 14, 21 and 28. - The Men’s Only Grief Support Group meets from 9 to 10:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at First Presbyterian Church at 305 Main St. in Waynesville. The June meeting will be held Tuesday, June 12. - The Homicide and Suicide Support Group for people who have experienced the death of a family member or friend through homicide or suicide meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday in June at the Jackson County Public Library at 310 Keener St. in Sylva. Palliative Care & Hospice Services of MedWest offers compassionate care for people who are terminally ill and their families and caregivers. Based on a family’s request, support may be provided emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and physically.
