MedWest-Swain to celebrate the arrival of digital mammography and bone density on March 7

Bryson City, N.C. – MedWest-Swain will host a reception on Thursday, March 7 from 4:00 to 6:00pm to officially unveil the new digital mammography and bone density testing units. The public is invited to stop by and check out this state-of-the-art technology that will improve local access for surrounding areas.

MedWest-Swain received a federal grant in the amount of $100,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission to serve the community with a digital mammography and bone densitometry system. The hospital auxiliary contributed $30,000 to the project from funds generated by the community-supported thrift store on the campus of MedWest-Swain.
