HRMC Foundation presents 21st Annual Charitable Classic Golf & Gala on Aug. 28 and 29 to raise funds for various MedWest-Haywood initiatives
Clyde, N.C. – The HRMC Foundation is presenting its 21st Annual Charitable Classic Golf & Gala, a two-day fundraiser Tuesday, Aug. 28 and Wednesday, Aug. 29 for MedWest-Haywood that features golf tournaments and an evening gala.
The HRMC Foundation promotes and administers charitable gifts for the advancement of MedWest-Haywood’s abilities to respond fully to the changing and growing health care needs of local citizens. Proceeds from the 2012 HRMC Foundation Charitable Classic Golf & Gala will help fund:
-Materials and equipment not budgeted for but needed by various MedWest-Haywood departments;
-Equipment for the new Outpatient Care Center at 581 Leroy George Dr. between the MedWest Health and Fitness Center and the hospital, including cardiac monitors, GlideScope equipment for patient intubation, anesthesia machines, defibrillators and surgical instruments; and
-The proposed Hospice & Palliative Care Outreach Center on the MedWest-Haywood campus adjacent to The Homestead, the recently completed inpatient hospice unit. The proposed center would feature work areas for volunteers, clinicians, therapists and clergy to manage patient care and family support collaboratively.
The HRMC Foundation Charitable Classic Golf & Gala kicks off Tuesday, Aug. 28 with Men’s Golf Tournaments at 8:30 a.m. at the Maggie Valley Club and at 12:30 p.m. at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa.
On Wednesday, Aug. 29, a Ladies’ Golf Tournament starts at 8 a.m. at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa, followed by Men’s Golf Tournaments at noon at the Laurel Ridge Country Club in Waynesville and at 1 p.m. at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa.
The format for the tournaments is captain’s choice with two-person teams. Box lunches and beverages will be provided for all golfers and volunteers at each tournament.
The Gala celebration from 6 to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa will feature a dinner buffet and live music by the band Orange Krush.
Individual tickets to the evening Gala are $50 each. Individual golf tournament slots are $150 each and include one ticket to the evening Gala. Discount tickets for men participating in two tournaments are $250 each and include two Gala tickets.
Allan and Missy Machesney are co-chairing the 2012 HRMC Foundation Charitable Classic Golf & Gala.
