CLYDE, N.C. – The HRMC Foundation raised more than $156,000 recently during its 2011 Annual Charitable Classic Golf & Gala to support services at MedWest-Haywood.
Approximately 135 sponsors and 360 golfers participated in the two-day golf event played Aug. 30-31 at Waynesville Inn Golf Resort & Spa, Maggie Valley Club and Laurel Ridge Country Club. More than 500 guests attended the gala held the evening of Aug. 31 at the Waynesville Inn.
Funds raised will go toward purchase of equipment for Homestead Hospice opening in November, purchase of surgery equipment for the new Outpatient Surgery Center opening in 2012, and support of the Unrestricted Endowment Fund for new Vital Sign Machines and Mini-Grants.
“Money raised from this event provides for much needed services at MedWest-Haywood,” said Allan Machesney, who served with his wife, Missy, as co-chairs of the event. “We were honored to work with the golf committee and more than 75 volunteers who helped make this event so successful.”
