Conquering Arthritis topic of Lunch and Learn

MedWest-Haywood will sponsor a Lunch and Learn seminar, featuring Gerald King, M.D, orthopedic surgeon who will discuss “Conquering Arthritis.”

The seminar by Dr. Gerald King, an orthopedic surgeon at Western Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists in Clyde, is an encore presentation of past seminars that have been extremely popular. The Lunch and Learn will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. August 22 at MedWest Health & Fitness Center.

King is the medical director of MedWest-Haywood’s Center for Joint Replacement program. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Andrews University and his doctor of medicine degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

During the Lunch and Learn, King will discuss treatments for arthritis and surgical options for people whose symptoms have become so severe that the pain is becoming or restricting their activities.

The Lunch and Learn session will be held in the second floor classroom at MedWest Health & Fitness Center. Advance reservations are required for the Lunch and Learn by calling 452-8881 or emailing jwalt@haymed.org. The cost for the session is $5 and includes lunch.
