Smoky Mountain OB/GYN Associates to host “Bootiful Babies Benefit” on Oct. 20

Sylva, NC—In an effort to raise proceeds for the New Generations Birthing Center, Smoky Mountain OB/GYN Associates will host the first Bootiful Babies Benefit outside their Sylva office at 64 Eastgate Drive, Sylva, NC. The benefit will be held from 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Bootiful Babies Benefit was created to be a “family centered event that incorporates fun things for everyone including a Daddy Derby for men to trick or treating for kids,” Dr. Mila Bruce of Smoky Mountain OB/GYN Associates said. “This event is meant to gather local families in a fun, safe environment to benefit the community by raising money for the New Generations Birthing Center.”

The New Generations Birthing Center is a $3 million renovation project of the mother and baby section on the hospital’s third floor. Plans for the Birthing Center include increasing the number of available labor and delivery rooms, implementing new technology and offering a specific operating room for Caesarean sections.

The MedWest-Harris and Swain Foundation has already raised over $50,000 towards the New Generations Birthing Center through the “That 70’s Gala” that was held on Aug. 25.

Admission and participation are free to the public. Donations are greatly appreciated, with all proceeds going to the New Generations Birthing Center. Live entertainment and homemade chili will be available.

There will be a wide selection of activities for the family to participate in at the Bootiful Babies Benefit including: face painting, pumpkin decorating, belly casting, and more. Visit www.mysmoga.com for a full list of activities.
