MedWest-Harris Sleep Disorders Center in Sylva receives program accreditation from American Academy of Sleep Medicine
Sylva, N.C. – The MedWest-Harris Sleep Disorders Center in Sylva recently received program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
To receive the five-year accreditation, a sleep center must meet or exceed all standards for professional health care as designated by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The accreditation process involves detailed inspection of a center’s facility and staff, including an evaluation of testing procedures, patient contacts and physician training. Also, the facility’s goals must be stated clearly and include plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in the community it serves.
“MedWest-Harris is pleased to provide the community with diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders recognized for quality on a national level. The accreditation is made possible by our physicians and staff applying world-class standards to the care they provide in our local communities,” said Steve Heatherly, President & CEO of MedWest-Harris.
The MedWest-Harris Sleep Disorders Center is directed by Beth Bailey, MD, a board-certified sleep medicine doctor who is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
“I am honored to be able to serve the people and physicians of this area as a sleep medicine consultant,” Bailey said.
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredits more than 2,400 sleep medicine centers and laboratories across the country and is a professional medical society for clinicians, researchers and other health care providers in the field of sleep medicine.
The MedWest-Harris Sleep Disorders Center is in Suite 503 of 186 Medical Park Loop on the MedWest-Harris campus in Sylva. Call (828) 586-7815 for more information.
