14th Annual Spirit of the Smokies Car Show this Saturday

MedWest-Harris & Swain Foundation presents 14th Annual Spirit of the Smokies Car Show on June 2 at MedWest-Harris

Sylva, N.C. – The MedWest-Harris & Swain Foundation is presenting the 14th Annual Spirit of the Smokies Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 2 in the parking area in front of MedWest-Harris at 68 Hospital Road in Sylva. 

Registration is from 8:30 a.m. until noon, and judging begins at 12:05 p.m. with an awards ceremony following the judging. Trophies will be awarded to the top 20 vehicles. Awards also will be given for Best in Show, People’s Choice, Ugliest Vehicle, Law Enforcement Choice and Dealer’s Choice. 

Proceeds of the Spirit of the Smokies Car Show will be used to purchase commercial grade treadmills for the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services department at MedWest-Harris, a department that helps people with heart and lung disease improve the quality of their lives through education, exercise and support. 

The King of the Road Sponsor for this year’s Spirit of the Smokies Car Show is Andy Shaw Ford Inc., and the Beverage Sponsors are Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and Mountain Valley Spring Water of Asheville.

The MedWest-Harris & Swain Foundation was created to ensure that quality healthcare will be available to the people of this region now and in the future. The Foundation endowment is a permanent fund, which continues to grow from both gifts and earnings. All donations are tax-deductible and are used to fund new state-of-the-art medical equipment, staff development, new and innovative health services and community programs that directly impact the life of the residents of Western North Carolina. Donations are not used for routine operating costs.
